About Jesse Savary
I moved here about ten years ago, when my mother relocated for work. Neighbours brought us treats, someone left a card welcoming us to the neighbourhood, and nobody ever made us feel like outsiders.
I loved this town and the people here, but I couldn't find a job here. That first year got hard, and neighbours encouraged me to keep at it with my life and keep trying. I still feel grateful to them.
Then a job offer in London fell into my lap, by chance, and I left. I kept coming back for family and neighbours. Now I've come home for good, and only because I work for myself. Most people don't get that kind of luck. They leave, and they stay gone.
I decided to run because life has gotten harder for many of us, and I got tired of complaining about it. Everyone should get to stay here, whether just starting out or growing old. I have the energy to show up on people's doorsteps, listen to them, and give them hope.
